The outdoor lifestyle store returns to sponsor the No. 37 Fusion of Front Row Motorsports for this weekend’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pa.
The green-and-red Gander Mountain paint scheme adorned the No. 37 car earlier this season at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway, where Gilliland drove it to a 19th-place finish.
Sunday’s Sunoco Red Cross Pennsylvania 500 will be Gilliland’s eighth start at the 2.5-mile tri-oval. His best qualifying effort at the “Tricky Triangle” is third and his top finish is 16th.

“We’re looking forward to going back to Pocono and having Gander Mountain back on the car. We’ve got one of their stores right near home in Mooresville and we go there a lot. I’m actually on a three-week motorhome trip with the family right now, doing some camping and fishing and other outdoor activities, and we’re using a lot of things from Gander Mountain.
“We were pretty racy at Martinsville the last time Gander Mountain was on the car. We were in the top-10 in practice and had a pretty good race, too. It was my best-ever finish at Martinsville anyway. So I think Gander Mountain is good luck. I’m looking forward to having them back.
“We debuted a new car last week at Indianapolis and, unfortunately, we didn’t make the race, which was really disappointing. This car is the first chassis built in-house by Front Row Motorsports, and that’s an important step for this team.
“Randy (crew chief Randy Seals) and the guys did a lot of good work last weekend getting the car to handle well and get some good speed. We were really happy with the car and how we progressed over the course of the practice sessions. Something just went wrong in qualifying.
“But we learned a lot and I think it’s really going to help us out when we get to Pocono. Indy is a big, flat track and so is Pocono. So even though we didn’t race last week, we got some good laps and good work in on our new car and it’s going to help make us all the more competitive this week.”
